Ozark Journey
This past weekend my paternal cousin threw me a bridal shower in Springfield, MO. Two distant cousins who I didn't know showed up, and I also got a gift from another one who wasn't able to make it. I really apprieciate it and the love that was put into all the details. One of my grandmother's old tablecloths was used to decorate, but because it had a few spots, my couisn dyed it a beautiful shade of purple. It was so cool. Erik wasn't able to come because he had to work, but my mom and Erik's parents all drove down in the same car. My mom and I stayed at grandpa's "farm" which was very nice. I was expecting it to be awkward because it is her ex-husband's dad, but they were both very nice and chatty. We also stopped at Oceola cheese and got some white chedar dill cheese curds.
When I got home yesterday, Erik had started a big project of putting joint compound on the downstairs bathroom walls to smooth them out and was painting. It was kind of hard to pull him away from the project. Yesterday was also Nana's birthday, so we went over to give her presents and to sing. It was also nice because my 16 yr. old cousin was in town from Atlanta. Erik tried to teach him how to drive a stick this weekend.
