The plans worked out

Well...the LYS said it wouldn't be a problem for me to take off on Saturday because not many people should come in for the weekend of the 4th.

Also, my main job said I could leave work at 4pm on Friday.

So...I'm going to Tablerock lake this weekend with Megan and her famiy and their friends of the family.

Anywoo, I think it will be a fun weekend. Megan told me not to bring my knitting, but little does she know that I have to have my knitting. She just doesn't understand. I do need some sleep and hope that they don't wake me up too early in the mornings.

Good Weekend

I had a fun weekend. I love working at the LYS. I started knitting a blue sequin scarf for the store. It is a little weird because I am doing it in chunks of different stitches to see how it knits up. It is fun when customers who I know from knitting group come in the store. On Saturday night Nana and Papa and I went out for Chinese food.

Sunday I slept in, knit a teal purse while watching TV, went to church, and to a group for 23 to 35 year olds. It was fun getting to know new people. I will have to go back to this group sometime.

Tomorrow night I'm going to another group with Heather. I'm eating with her at her parents' house and then going to the group. I miss Heather and wish that I got to see her more often.

Megan just called me at work asking if I could go to the lake with her this weekend, but I'm working at the LYS. I wonder if I could get someone to work for me. She also wants to know if I could leave work early on Friday, but I don't think that will be possible.

The Notebook

Last night my mom and I went to see The Notebook. It was so good, I kept crying through the whole thing. It is the sweetest story; everyone should see it. I want to have a love story like that.

Lunch with Megan

Yesterday was my half-day so I met Megan for lunch at Einstein Brothers. I told her about how I am depressed and confused.

I finished my beaded purse last night and am carrying it today!

I cord

Yesterday at work was very busy. I hope I make goal for the month. It would be great if some of these homequity loans came in and were apporved.

I went to Knitters' Guild last night. There were about 1/3 of the normal amount of knitters there. I started my first Icord to go on my beaded purse. It is going well, but it is very small and takes awhile.

Tonight I might try going with my step dad to look at that house if it is still for sale.

Busy Saturday, Nice Sunday

I'm tired after the weekend, plus I couldn't sleep last night. Working at the yarn shop was fun, but I will have to wear different shoes. I didn't realize how much I would be standing. Some of the customers wanted a lot of help picking out their projects; this was very time consuming. I am the same way when I buy projects asking the sales people too many questions. It is funny, but I understand why it can take hours for a person to choose a project. When spending so much money and time on something, a person should choose wisely.

Small group was fun. It is always good seeing those folks.

I slept in on Sunday and went to Dean and Deluca to get Papa fancy chocolates. I also got Steve a fancy salami. I talked to Grandpa, Uncle Bill, and Unkie on the phone. I tried calling my dad multiple times, but his answering maschine isn't plugged in. So I didn't talk to my dad on Father's day.

My mom, Steve, Nana, Papa, Ena and I all ate steak at my parents' house. We also had a tasty pecan cheesecake.

I have made more progress on my beaded purse. I added the lining and stitched up the sides. I have one tassel to go and the cord. Ena thought it could sell for $250 in a store. I think I will make about 5 to 7 and sell them to botiques. I want to start a business. I think the label will be "Nell."

Today I start at the LYS

I'm excited because I start at the LYS today. My mom said that she would come in and shop. That should be fun. But... it will be a long day. After both jobs, I have small group tonight at 6:30.

We are having a shrimp boil.

I think I will be very tired by the end of the day and will spend tomorrow sleeping.

No Idle Hands

No Idle Hands was hilarious last night. People say exactly what they think which kept making me laugh. Caroline brought Kama awesome coral colored swimsuit yarn for Italy. The pattern book was very European and the bikinis were quite revealing with patterned holes over the top and such. But, there were a few conservative ones that could be nice for Kama. Caroline said she had to model for us. That will be quite the scene.

Andre's

Tomorrow is food day at work; the theme is international. I decided to bring quiche from Andre's because it is my favorite, and I won't be able to make anything tonight because I have knitting group. Even if the other people don't like quiche, I will eat it and bring it home; it is so tasty.

Ena came in the bank to give me packages of pantyhose that she never used. This will be nice; I always run mine.

Erik

I met with Sharon today; her house is beautiful. She really has a gift for decorating. Everything is cooridinated. Her son Erik was there too, I have been wondering what he is all about. She always says how sweet he is. He seemed nice and is cute ( didn't really remember what he looked like). She says he has a really strong faith and doesn't want a girlfriend right now because he is still in school and wouldn't be able to support/provide. It is nice that some men still want to provide and not be married to crazed career women. I hope God puts a man in my life like this.

Stepford Wives

I went to see the Stepford Wives with Kama last night. It wasn't as cute as I thought it would be because the ending was weird, but it was an entertaining movie. I like the idea of being a perfect housewife. I just hope that I meet a man who can support me someday.

Megan wants me to eat at her parents tonight. I think I'll do that.

I'm meeting with Sharon today at her house. Supposedly her new house in incredible; I'm excited to see it and chat with her.

I'm getting closer to finishing my knitted purse.

Lunch with Kappa Girls

I met my friends Dana and Katie for lunch at Fazoli's to chat. Dana is in town for a few days before going to New Zealand. I'm glad about her current career choice, but I wish I could see her more often. It was fun seeing Katie too; maybe she can come to knitting group sometime.

The Lake

I had a great time at the lake with Kama's family. Kama and I worked on our beaded purses and made quite a bit of progress. She is starting her second one in pink. We also went out on the boat and tanned (although we are both pale and burn).

Her mom is a great cook. It is funny that the whole family likes frozen custard so much. We kept trying to get some on the ride down and back, but the places were always closed.

We also went to the Amish community. They make amazing ice cream and furnature. Kama and I both like this one solid wood bed that has rounded ends. It is kind of enclosed and $800 for a queen and $850 for a king. Bryan said it would be around $3000 in KC. When I get my own place I am going to buy Amish furnature. Kama said her family has 2 trucks, so they could help me bring the furnature back.

New Part Time Job

Last night I had an "interview" at the LYS. I was asked to bring some of the things I've knit. I looked like Santa carrying such a big bag. Anyway, I will start working there a week from tomorrow, every Saturday. I think it might be fun!

Tonight after work, Kama and Bryan are picking me up to drive to the lake.

Excited

I'm getting reallly excited about the lake this weekend. It will be fun becoming better friends with Kama and getting to know her more. I hope it doesn't rain the whole weekend or that the trip doesn't get canceled because of the rain.

I have No Idle Hands tonight. That should be fun too.

Today at work I have to make 13 more Target 1 calls. I hope it goes quickly.

New Swimsuit

Last night my mom surprised me by meeting me at Swimquick. I got a cool black two-piece with red flowers on it. I also got a nice matching wrap. It is a really cute suit. I remember hating suit shopping when I was 16; now I wish I looked like I did when I was 16; it's funny how body image changes over time.

I also checked out the new yarn sore in town. It is really visually attractive (the yarn is arranged by color).

Last night I wanted to go to bed but then found out that arsenic and Old Lace was on TV, so I watched it with Nana and Papa. It made for a late night. I am now very tired. But...that movie is hilarious. I might add it to my Favorite Movie list in my profile.

The Yarn Shop Opens Today

As I said in the title "the yarn shop opens today" which is so exciting. I think I will try to go by there after work. I might also go into Swimquick if it is open that late. I need a new swimsuit; I am popping out of all the wrong places on my current ones. I don't want to scare anyone this weekend.

My beaded purse is really coming along. I have about 3 inches done. I might have to carry it as an everyday purse even though it is dressy.

Kama's invite

Kama from knitting group called me today and asked me to go to the lake with her famiy (husband and her parents). This should be fun. We are going to go to the Amish community too! I have never seen the Amish life.

It will be a fun weekend of knitting, playing on the lake, and visiting the Amish.

Meeting at Mimi's

I was just chatting with my mentor at Mimi's. She said that she heard that Pottery Barn pays well and that they offer a discount. This might be a good place because then I could decorate my potential house.

We are now going to meet every 2 weeks.

First Post

This is my first blogger post.

I want to buy a cute house. In order to do this I will need a second job. I'm thinking about applying at the new knitting store. I don't know when they would want me to work or how much it would pay. It would be so cool working at a yarn store and helping people with thier knitting selections. I wonder if this will work out; it would be so great owning a cute home, a new bunny, and knitting.
